Samuel Meyrick letters to Mr. Davidson, 1835-1837.

The collection consists of two letters: to Mr. Davidson, 7 Dec. 1835, in third person, asking after Davidson's brother, John, who recently travelled to Africa despite Meyrick's counsel; to Davidson, 18 March 1837, offering his condolences on the death of Davidson's brother in Africa, and mentioning the death of Meyrick's son.

Antiquarian Samuel Meyrick was born into a wealthy family, graduated from Oxford, and worked as an advocate. He had an abiding interest in history, and published numerous articles on the subject, as well as writing several books and editing several others.
